Matt Schofield returns to the UK in November for a tourwith some interesting gigs in amongst the dates. It is really a tour of England as no Scottish, Welsh or Irish dates are included and you have to wonder if this is a sign of the live music scene in these areas that doesn't make it worthwhile for an act to tour. Some choice gigs on this tour and tickets are sure to go quick for the charity gig for Help for Heroes at Cadogan Hall on October 22 called London Blues for Heros featuring The Blues Band, Ian Siegal, Matt Schofield and some very special guests that are still to be annnounced. The tickets are £ 39.50 plus a VIP ticket for £ 60 including finest house seats, complimentary souvenir programme, glass of champagne on arrival and an exclusive post-show artist meet and greet event. The gig in Brighton on November the 11th will include some special guests from the Brighton Institute of Modern Music (BIMM), where Matt will be doing a masterclass during the day. On November 22nd Matt will play a one off special at Dingwalls with The Trio, a brass line and some special guest joing the band on stage during the gig. This one will surely sell out quick and would be worth making the trip for. There are a couple of breaks in the UK tour when Matt will go over to Holland a couple of time for a TV show taping and some gigs in Holland. So this week I started out with a plan and it all changed during putting the show together, so I hpe you enjoy the music. It is maybe not the most bluesy of shows but I had an itch to play some of these tracks and they had to be played.

It would be great if you can nip on over to the British Blues Awards website to cast some nominations before the 31st March, it is a complete public vote. Voting for the Kevin Thorpe Award for Original Blues Song nominations is open until the 14th April so if you haven't already voted then please cast a vote there as well. Seven other radio shows are participating in nominating for the Kevin Thorpe Award and you can see the other songs nominated here.

This weeks show is an iTunes plus file which means that cover art and links to the band websites are included in the file if you are listening to the show using iTunes. I'd appreciate feedback on whether you think this is an enhancement to the show or not and if you find it useful.

Next week tributes to Pinetop Perkins and Big Jack Johnson who both recently passed and new releases from Kris Dollimore, Henrik Freischlader, Urban Voodoo Machine and what ever else I can drag up.

During the last week of January five semi finals featuring thirty bands took place the length and breadth of the UK to find the final six bands who will battle for a place at the Harvest Jazz and Blues Festival in Fredericton, New Brunswick in Canada during September 2011.

The final five acts that will be appearing at the 100 Club in London on the 29th March are
At each heat two runners up were chosen and they will be facing a public vote, the winner of which will get the sixth place at the final. You can vote and watch videos of the votes here.  Voting finshes on the 28th February and to vote you rate the video.

The runners up are
Interestingly enough there doesn’t appear to be a video for Virgil and the Accelerators who were one of the runners up in the first heat at the the Greyhound in Beeston. I’m waiting for confirmation of why this is.

Tickets for the 100 Club are now on sale with all ticket money going towards Veterns Aid. The tickets cost £8 in advance or £10 on the night and are available from http://www.the100club.co.uk/  or http://www.wegottickets.com/event/106939 there are only 125 tickets for sale and seeing six bands for £8 can’t be bad in the centre of London.

One of the judges at the final will be Matt Andersen who was recently voted Entertainer and Acoustic Act of the year at the Maple Blues Awards in Toronto, Canada, comes over to the UK for a ten date tour in March. Matt, who hails from New Brunswick, is fast becoming one of the best acts to come out of Canada in a while.

Also in the last few days Gregg Allman has been confirmed as one of the headline acts for the Harvest Jazz and Blues festival.  Tickets are expected to go on sale in May with more acts to be announced over the coming months.

Matt Andersen, recently voted Entertainer and Acoustic Act of the year at the Maple Blues Awards in Toronto, Canada, comes over to the UK for a ten date tour in March. Matt, who hails from New Brunswick, is fast becoming one of the best acts to come out of Canada in a while.

Mat has released and ep, two live recordings and two studio albums and a Christmas CD that received much critical acclaim in late 2010.

Matt Andersen has a larger than life showmanship that has been earning him a fervent and steadfast audience wherever he graces the stage. Matt's sprawling blues, roots and rock musical hybrid with his sorrowing and soulful voice has sparked a phenomenal buzz on Canada’s East Coast.

Matt will also be one of the judges in the New Brunswick Battle of the Bands final at the 100 Club in London on the 29th March.

You can stream copies of Matts’ music from his website, well worth a listen.

Eric ‘Slim’ Zahl and the South West Swingers - Harper City Diner from Daddy’O
Arsen Shomakhov - Something True Became A Lie from On The Move
Chris Antonik - If we start from here  self titled
The Hupman Brothers Band - Pull My Own Strings from Loveseat Vol 1
Erin McCallum - Don’t Call Me Baby from Common Ground
The Rumshack Blues Band - Travelling Riverside Blues from First Cut
No Sweat - Blues Message from Six Whole Days...One Whole Night
Eddie Taylor - Bad Boy
John Lee Hooker - Dimples
Jimmy Reed - Big Boss Man
Gregg Allman - My Love Is Your Love from Low Country Blues

I highlight the bands that were nominated for the New Artist or Group of the year in the Canadian 14th Maple Blues Awards that took place in Toronto on the 17 January 2011. The acts that were nominated were Arsen Shomakhov, Chris Antonik, The Hupman Brothers Band, Erin McCallum. Unfortunately the CD from the winner Mike ‘Shrimp Daddy’ Reid didn’t turn up in the post in time for airplay but we will play it in the future.

New album tracks in the show from Andres Roots, Black River Bluesman, Eric Slim Zahl and Gregg Allman. The Andres Roots CD is truly excellent recording featuring collabartions between Andres and other blues artists from all around the world, look out for a full review on the website.

I also feature a track from local Shetland band, The Rumshack Blues Band, who will be competing in the semi finals of the New Brunswick Battle of the Bands in the Scotia Bar in Glasgow on Tuesday 25th January ( Up Helly A night here in Shetland). No Sweat are one of the longest running bands in Shetland, 30 years and still going strong. They celebrate with the release of the live album Six Whole Days...One Whole Night, recorded straight off the soundboard on the night with very little mixing required, a great CD.

A short tribute to Vee-Jay Records from Chicago was done as on 18 January in 1955, Eddie Taylor made his VeeJay recording debut in Chicago accompanied by Jimmy Reed and Ray Scott on "Bad Boy" and "E.T. Blues (Instrumental)".

The competition for the 2011 Best Self Produced CD, which is part of the 27th International Blues Challenge (IBC) in Memphis during the 2 - 3 February 2011, has come down to the final 5.

With a total of 55 CD’s up for consideration, the most since the competition started in 2005, the panel of judges have had there work cut out for them. Entries are submitted by affiliated blues societies to the Blues Foundation, which runs the IBC. The competition goes through three rounds and entries are judged on blues content, musical performance, audio quality of the presentation, cover art and design and credits and liner information.

With 7 international entries, this competition is developing into a truly international competition highlighting independently produced blues music.

The 2011 BSPCD Finals judges are record label executives: Randy Chortkoff (Delta Groove),  Edward Chmelewski (Blind Pig),  Andrew Galloway (Electro-Fi) and Jeff Konkel (Broke & Hungry).

The winning artist receives $750 and a personalized winner’s plaque and, the CD will receive: airplay on Sirius XM Satellite Radio’s B.B. King's Bluesville; Music Choice, your cable and satellite TV Blues channel, Blues Breaker status on The House of Blues Radio Show with Elwood Blues, as well as on radio shows hosted by our deejay judges around the country.

The 2011 finalists are

Becki Sue and her Big Rockin' Daddies - Big Rockin Boogie

The five piece band Beckie Sue and her Big Rockin’ Daddies hail from the South Puget Sound region of Washington state, USA, and have been playing since 2003. This is their second CD and highlights there Texas/Chicago style, high energy Blues. The vocals of Beckie Sue stand out well and the overall sound is of a band on fire in the studio and they must be a delight to see live.

Delta Generators - Hard River to Row

This four piece formed in 2008 in the Boston area this is the bands second album, following their 2009 self release Devil In The Rhythm. The band mix up soul, funk, rock ‘n’ roll, country upon a bed rock of blues and what a great mix it is. This is definitely a band to watch out for in the future.  The CD was nominated by the Boston Blues Society.

Joe McMurrian - Get Inside This House

Joe McMurrian has been in the final selection of the competition before when his 2006 debut Rain of Days was placed second overall. Now with his second solo CD he has reached the final selection again and what a great CD of acoustic music it is. If you follow the link to Joe’s website you can hear a streamed version of the CD. The CD recorded live during one day of recording, many of the tracks are the first take, this CD has a great sound to it. Mixing songs with acoustic guitar and others played on the banjo there is no danger of losing interest in the music here. Joe is currently resident in Portland, Oregon and the CD was submitted by the Cascade Blues Association. Joe has the whole album streaming on his website if you want a listen.

Long Tall Deb & the Drifter Kings - Diamonds on the Desert Floor

The Blues, Jazz and Folk Music Society nominated the debut disc from Long Tall Deb and the Drifter Kings. Having played the International Blues Challenge in 2010 Long Tall Deb and the Drifter Kings get more recognition for there mix of blues styles. The four piece of Deb Landolt (vocals), Richey B (guitar), Melvin Powe (Bass) and Doug Oscard (Drums) blend a unique and tasty mix of Delta, Piedmont, Texas and Chicago blues, boogie-woogie, New Orleans style, and classic R&B and soul with generous helpings of original music.

Stevie J - The Diversity Project

Central Mississippi Blues Society nominated this double disc release from Stevie J. Stevie J started his 20 year music career playing Gospel music in his father’s church. In 2001 Stevie J sat in with Bobby Rush and started recording and touring in his band. The double disc set packages two albums in one, the blues album Standin at The Station and the soul album Soul Sessions. Stevie J is a resident of Jackson, Mississippi and will be performing at the 2011 IBC.

I'll be playing tracks from the above artists on the podcast and news of the result when it is announced in early February.

hi blues dogs

fistly, i appreciate the support you guys give my music!

secondly, if youve ever seen my shows im always happy to get people up for a blow, ive had people like TJ play guitar (he'll be playing with me this sunday at tilba), lilly white play harmonica, ugly graham play harmonica, phil rado play bongos, blue dogs play harmonica, rory cotter play djembe, james southwell play guitar, canadian cath ford do vocals, hugo from the sydney blues society play harmonica etc etc, so if you know what your doing just come and have a bit of fun! i travel around oz on my own and it gets pretty lonely sometimes, i always love jamming with people so dont be a stranger!

ok down to business

im on tour promoting my new DVD live at the sydney blues festival, recorded at the fitzroy hotel october 2009. 11 foot stomping songs with 2 previously unreleased tracks, Hoochie Coochie Man and Black Betty. The DVD is available on the Plastic Donut label and distributed by Only Blues Music.

heres a promo clip of the dvd on youtube http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=F5DpFyad9d8

ive had a bugger of a start to the year firstly i tried to kick my drum off stage on NYE and it just wouldnt fall off, so i stood up and gave it an almighty boot and missed the skin and copped my toe on the rim! it frickin killed, black and blue, had to go to hospital and get the nail drilled!
on sudnay i kicked it off stage and it rolled along the floor and went down a stairwell and busted my kick pedal

today i went for a surf at newcastle and got hammered by a huge wave, which drove me down so hard my board slipped out of my hands and forced the board up with the fin just grazing my forhead, any closer and i could have lost an eye!

The venue's for the premiere of the new Julien Temple film, Oil City Confidential have been announced.

The event takes place in cinemas across the UK and Ireland on Tuesday 2 February and starts at 7:45pm with the film being shown first and then followed by a live set by Wilko Johnson and his band with special guest Alison Moyet beamed live by satelite from Koko in London.

Oil City Confidential is the last film in Julien Temple's trilogy on British music of the 1970s. It is a prequel to his landmark films about punk figureheads the Sex Pistols in The Filth & The Fury and Joe Strummer in The Future Is Unwritten.

Rather than being standard 'rockumentaries', Julien uses the music as a prism through which he examines the social and cultural conditions of the times. The films share his characteristic cinematic language - an irreverent and anarchic style of montage of archive and fictive footage, which he pioneered in The Great Rock & Roll Swindle.

The Sex Pistols' and Joe Strummer's roles are well known, but Dr Feelgood, who are the subject of Oil City Confidential, played a vital role in creating those conditions for that cultural explosion and is a story that is as yet untold.

Oil City Confidential is a film noir feature length documentary and about Dr Feelgood; it's the story of four men in cheap suits who crashed out of Canvey Island in the early '70s, sandpapered the face of rock’n’roll and left all that came before a burnt-out ruin, four estuarine John-the-Baptists to Johnny Rotten’s anti-Christ.

Cannibalising the visual flotsam and jetsam of our society, welding into an emotionally engaging and humorous whole, Oil City Confidential sets out to explore this unique time, place and social landscape - all of which was responsible for shaping the identity of the band and which, more than any other, defined the strange cultural vacuum which existed before the coming of punk rock.

Innovative Australian guitarist Jeff Lang, respected and admired by the likes of Richard Thompson, and John Butler, on UK tour to promote acclaimed 16th album ‘Half Seas Over’. The album was originally released in Australia in 2008. No doubt tracks from his 2009 album release 'Chimeradour' will also feature.

A virtuoso guitarist with an achingly sweet voice and hypnotic performance style, Jeff Lang has carved out a unique niche for his compelling and continually evolving music transcending the boundaries of traditional folk, blues, country and other roots music.

Over the past decade, Lang has built an international reputation and a loyal fan base with constant touring in the US, Europe and Australia. He is a favourite on the festival circuit and has enjoyed national airplay, rave reviews, multiple ARIA nominations and the respect of his peers around the world. He has toured with Bob Dylan, Ani Di Franco, Dr John, Loudon Wainwright III and countless others.

The Blues Foundation will present the Blues Music Awards at the Cook Convention Center in Memphis, TN on May 6, 2010. Performers, industry representatives and fans from around the globe will have the chance to celebrate the best in Blues recording and performance from 2009. Among those heading the list of honorees for the 31st Blues Music Awards is Joe Louis Walker, who garnered five nominations, including Album of the Year, Contemporary Blues Album of the Year, and Song of the Year for "I'm Tide" from his recent release Between a Rock and the Blues. Rick Estrin, Tommy Castro, Louisiana Red and Duke Robillard, each received four nominations.

UK interest with Joanne Shaw Taylor nominated with the album CD White Sugar in the Best New Artist Category and Gary Moore in the Historical category for the recent Essential Montreux set.

"Many nominators noted that narrowing each category to five was an especially difficult task this year, but I think the nominees are very reflective of the past year's releases. In this holiday season, I like to think of this as a present blues fans can open immediately," Jay Sieleman, The Blues Foundation’s Executive Director said. "I would hope Blues fans will add the nominated releases and tickets to their shopping lists!"

Almost every nominee will be attendance and perform so it's safe to say it will be one of the best shows of the year; where else do you get the chance to see a lineup including the best of the best in blues all in one evening? The 30th Blues Music Awards were widely hailed as the best ever so order now to get the best seats for the show. Members get seating preference and are the only fans who vote to decide which nominees will actually take home the Blues Music Award.

The complete list of nominees can be found by clicking the Blues Music Award icon above.Online voting is now open for members. Voting, ticket and host hotel information can also be accessed on the Blues Music Award pages.

The Blues Music Awards are universally recognized as the highest honor given to Blues artists. The presenting sponsor will once again be The Gibson Foundation. 2010 BMA sponsors include ArtsMemphis, BMI, Casey Family Programs, Eagle Rock Entertainment, FedEx, Legendary Rhythm & Blues Cruise, Memphis Convention and Visitors Bureau, the Sierra Nevada Brewing Company, and the Tennessee Arts Commission.

The Blues Hall of Fame Induction Ceremony and Charter Members' Dinner will be held the night before the Awards, May 5. Honorees will be announced in mid-February.

BB King Autographed Guitar

On the evening of Monday, December 14, 6pm – 9pm, The Jazz Academy and Blues For A Cure will team up to present a Blues Guitar Master Class with Jimmy Thackery at The Jazz Academy located in the historic Lincoln Theatre.  Registration for the guitar class is $100 and $50 for “observer only” fee.

Sean Carney’s Blues For A Cure was created in 2007 to honor those afflicted with cancer, fund cancer research and survivor programs and perpetuate an American art form, Blues music.

And remember if you can't get to the gig you can always buy the Studio Jam CD from the Blues for A Cure website, well worth the $15 donation.

Last years
event raised $10,000 over one day so it looks like more should be raised from this worthwhile cause.

No U.S. blues band has made a sustained tour of London in-- well, no one seems to be able to remember. But Kilborn Alley Blues Band are doing it, starting next week--Tuesday 17 November, kicking off at Effra Hall in Brixton. The idea is to infest the place, to soak in all that guitar blues that comes from Britain. We are real proud of the pubs we have been able to put together for this tour.

The venues include Effra Hall which is an amazing jazz and reggae venue in the little West Indies that is Brixton, Moors Bar is a gem in Crouch End with one of the coolest owners in all of tavern-dom the world over, The Globe has an incredible blues jam scene in Hackney lead by John Parry and his band, The Oval features Graeme's dj work plus great blues bands, Weavers Arms is a veritable monument in rock history, North Pole is making a statement as an r&b venue, -- each place is special in its way, and we are looking for big turnouts on what is supposed to be a resurgent London blues scene. We hear the new Charlotte Street Blues may be the finest facility dedicated to blues on planet earth.

The Kilborn Alley Blues Band does gritty Chicago blues and southern fried soul for all the generations of blues lovers. This music speaks for itself; better still, it convinces you to listen.

And after just winning the Sean Costello Rising Star In The Blues Award at the Blues Blast Magazine's annual music awards, they will be a band not to be missed.

So if your a fan of the blues and want to hear a great Chicago band get along to one of these gigs.

The band are

Andrew Duncanson - guitar, lead vocals

Josh Stimmel - guitar
Chris Breen - electric bass
Ed O'Hara - drums

The last weekend of October 2009 saw the first German and Baltic Blues Challenge held in Eutin, Germany (approx 100km north of Hamburg).

With ten bands and eight solo/duo acts taking part in this ground breaking competition, around about 800 spectators from several North European countries provided an appropriate setting for those two days with its worldwide first pre-competition to the International Blues Challenge, in Memphis in January 2010.

The judging was carried out by international panels on both days that included Thomas Ruf from Ruf Rrecords and representatives from Belgium, Finland, France, Gremany, Normay, Poland, Sweden and Switzerland.

The winners of the two days of competition were

German Blues Challenge
Solo/Duo:
Georg Schroeter & Marc Breitfelder (Germany)
Band: Hootin´ The Blues (Germany)

Baltic Blues Challenge
Solo/Duo: Steve Grahn & Mattias Malm (Sweden)*
Band: Latvian Blues Band (Latvia)

*Because Georg Schroeter & Marc Breitfelder have won the German Challenge automatically the second placed Steve Grahn & Mattias Malm were sent to Memphis.

The Baltic Blues Association wants to thank all musicians for fascinating days with blues of highest international level!

We also want to say thank you for the high professional work of the Jury.

Last but not least we want to thank all helpers, donators and a really fantastic audience!

Also going to the IBC from France are Philippe Menard and Bo Weavil who are going to Memphis on behalf of the Blues-sur-Seine Society. Blues-sur-Seine have also entered Mountain Men with their CD Springtime Coming in the Best Self Produced CD category.

So best of luck to all the enterants from Europe and hoping that they do well at the IBC in Memphis at the end of January 2010.

The 1st British Slide Guitar Festival

A general get together, workshop, and evening concert for a hundred like minded souls on 23rd of January 2010.

Michael Messer has agreed to perform with his musical partner of many years Ed Genis. Lucy Zirins will provide support.

Michael Messer will also host a workshop during the late afternoon for those of us who really want to know how he does it.

There will be a talk about the history of slide, by Ian McWee, ‘From beef bones & rail track nails, to plastic wonders'. He will bring a full set of examples to pass around for folks to try, and the session will be illustrated musically by the playing of Steve Thompson. After which a ‘Diamond Bottlenecks’ Slide will be raffled. The proceeds will go to to Music Machine - ‘music for the community’ an open access project which in conjunction with the Chelmsley Wood Baptist Church provide instruction and support as well as access to instruments in the B33,36 & 37 postcodes

Doors open at noon with a getting to know each other session and a ‘Rolling Buffet’ . As the afternoon progresses, between the more formal events there will be an open mic. Those with a little less confidence can sign up for a ‘partnered jam’ and spend a while playing and perhaps taking the  the open mic as a duo.

This will all take place in the Godiva Room and conservatory of The Red Lion, a 500 year old Coaching Inn & three star hotel situated in Long Street in Atherstone, North Warwickshire,  In addition to a very good restaurant, bar meals are also available.

Attendees will be eligible to take advantage of a Single occupancy tariff of £49 per night with B&B in one of the 37 rooms available.

E-mail: info@atherstoneredlion.co.uk for details

I chose Atherstone because it is situated on the A5 between the M6 M1 and M42. Travel is easy from all but the most far flung parts of England. I have checked the current availability of  rail super saver return tickets from York, Leeds, Cardiff, Exeter, Bristol, Southampton, and Liverpool and none costs more than £17 to Atherstone Station.

I am a punter and not looking at making my fortune out of this gig. In order to keep costs low and make this event available to as many players as possible, admission will be by pre payment of the full fee of £25. £26.50 if paying by Paypal

For details of how to register please email me

So if you would like to support this festival get in touch with Percy, sounds that this could become a really good annual festival if enough people support it.

From Backdoor Slam email alert

Hi all!
Just to let you know www.wiManx.com and www.isleofman.com have organised a repeat sream of the Isle of Man gig for our international fans this evening - it will start replaying at 7pm on the US East Coast, and 10pm on the US West Coast, which is 3am GMT (hopefully you can work out any other timezones from that, or we could still be typing them out here when the show actually starts!) It might be best to bookmark the page and keep checking it around those times in case it starts any earlier...it will be shown on this page:
www.isleofman.com/video

Davy and the band have been enjoying their first gigs in Australia this past week, and have one more in Sydney before they head back for a final blast around the USA to take them into 2010 (straight into it in fact, with a special New Year's Eve show at World Cafe!) Check davyknowles.com/gigs for all the dates, and remember to keep checking the facebook and Davy's twitter page for regular updates from the guitar hero himself.

That's all for now - hope to see some of you on the road before Christmas is upon us!

Cheers and best wishes from the Isle of Man crew,
DK&BDS

While the Stomp crew was in New York City this July, a crew of music lovers, including Brian Gourley, the Butler Brothers, and acclaimed director Jeff Nichols, was putting the finishing touches on the first Ponderosa Stomp film.

Classie Ballou, Lil' Buck Senegal and Roy Head are integral Stomp performers—these three exemplary artists enjoyed early success, but found themselves toiling in obscurity later in life. Their first-person remembrances of their careers, their experiences playing on the Stomp, and the impact the Stomp has had on their lives are at the core of this riveting piece. The film also includes live concert footage and additional interviews with the likes of musicologist Peter Guralnick offering a rare peek inside the Ponderosa Stomp Foundation.

This film would not have been possible without the generous support and time of music fan, volunteer and the film's executive producer, Brian Gourley. Brian attended the Stomp and was transfixed by the music and amazed that such a small group with limited resources was able to bring so much music and cultural information to the fore. So, Brian asked what he could do to help. We are thrilled to share with you the realization of his hard work and vision -- Ponderosa Stomp: The Film.

The film was shot in Austin during 2009's SXSW, in Artists' homes, and at the 2009 Stomp Concert and Conference. Gourley explains, "The film presented itself at the right time; it let me pour my love of music into a project that I thought would help give props to its roots. Without roots, there are no trees." This moving film clearly shows the impact your support and our work has had on several of the hundreds of artists we have worked with.

We are asking for you to be a part of the music, to build upon our recent successes, and to continue to expand our unique and vital work. Our cultural preservation efforts require the technical skill, time, and expertise of our small, committed staff and volunteers.

It also requires the help of everyone who enjoys our shows and events; we need your help to ensure we can continue our work in the coming year. Please support our efforts and help us reach our fundraising goal of $40,000.00 by December 31st, 2009 with a donation in any amount that is meaningful to you. We look forward to you joining us to guarantee the music lives on.

Matt Schofield is currently on tour across the UK promoting his latest CD "Heads, Tails and Aces" on the Nugene Record label.

This weekend sees a live DVD shoot at the High Barn venue in Great Bardfield, Essex this Saturday 24th October 2009.

It's fully equipped as a live venue, great sound, a fine bar, fab toilets, and with an adjoining recording control room, which makes it ideal for live recordings.

If you have been trying to get tickets, here's some good news! Although High Barn's web site has been indicating the show as Sold Out there are in fact a few tickets available. Call this number to grab yours and join in the fun: 01371 811291, or buy on-line at High Barn

The remaining dates on the tour are as follows

T-Model Ford kicked off his UK tour at The Luminaire last Friday (11/09) and also took the BBC by storm with a series of anarchic live sessions and interviews. After T-Model was interviewed by Tom Robinson on his Six Music show one listener emailed in to say it was the “maddest interview in radio history, sheer genius”!

The Billy Walton Band head out on a UK tour during October  in support of the release of their new album "Neon City" with a couple of support slots with Walter Trout thrown in as well. The sound of the band is a combination of hard blues reminiscent of Hendrix, Clapton and SRV mixed with healthy dose of Warren Haynes and Derrick Trucks.

Since the age of 15, Walton has plied his craft in the Asbury Park/New Jersey shore music scene, most notably as the guitarist/vocalist for Boccigalupe & the Bad Boys.  During his time with Boccigalupe, Walton has played countless gigs in both the United States and Europe and sat in with numerous of rock luminaries including Springsteen, Gary US Bonds and Stevie Ray’s backing band, Double Trouble.
